From September 26 to October 2 in SOSK “Raduga” village. Divnomorskoe hosted the II International Scientific and Practical Conference “Development and modern problems of aquaculture” (Conference “Aquaculture 2022”).

Welcoming remarks were made by: Rector of the Don State Technical University, Corresponding Member of the RAO – Besarion Meskhi; Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Scientific Director of the UNC RAS – Gennady Matishov; Deputy Director of the UNC RAS for Scientific Work – Valery Staheev; Second Secretary of the Representative Office of the Ministry of Science and Technology at the Embassy of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam of the Russian Federation – Pham Ngoc Tuen.

Rector of DSTU Besarion Meskhi in his welcoming speech stressed the importance of the event: “Holding such events is a great opportunity to combine our efforts for a common noble goal – technological leadership in priority areas through the pooling and development of resources, competencies and initiatives of research, expert and educational organizations to create and promote innovative products and technologies that can bring our the country to a fundamentally new economic level.”

“Aquaculture is a significant component of renewable natural resources and a segment with huge development potential.-research, project and educational activities. For the development of aquaculture as a full–fledged branch of the economy, it is necessary to expand the participation of universities and scientific organizations in solving its tasks, – said Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences Gennady Matishov. – I believe that the main purpose of the conference “Aquaculture 2022″ is to exchange best practices and knowledge. The conference provides for the integration of the efforts of specialists for the stable development of the country’s aquaculture, combining various areas of new research and development.”

 The Conference was organized by Don State Technical University, with the support of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation, the Russian Academy of Sciences and the Southern Scientific Center of the Russian Academy of Sciences.

The main directions of the Conference “Aquaculture 2022”:

  1. Intensive aquaculture technologies;
  1. Modern approaches to diagnostics and organization of therapeutic and preventive measures in aquaculture;
  1. Genetic methods and modern breeding in aquaculture;
  1. Production and prospects of the fish feed market;
  1. Problems of education in the field of aquaculture and fisheries;
  1. Probiotic drugs aimed at modulating the health of farm animals and aquaculture facilities (within the framework of Megagrant No. 075-15-2022-285 of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation);
  1. Problems of water resources and aquaculture of the southern macroregion.

The plenary session heard reports by leading experts in the main disciplines of bioecological and fisheries areas: Elena Ponomareva, Chief Researcher of the UNC RAS, Shakhlo Miralimova, Deputy Director for Scientific Work of the Institute of Microbiology of the Academy of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Irina Moruzi, Head of the Department of Novosibirsk State Agrarian University, Honored Scientist of the Russian Federation, Professor – Vladimir Milyutkin, Head of the Eurasian Aquaculture Alliance of the Association of Fisheries Enterprises (Associations) of Inland Reservoirs and Aquaculture (fish Association) – Alexander Nevredinov and others.

During the Conference it was heard more than 100 reports from leading representatives of the scientific, educational, industrial and business communities in full-time and distance formats.

The speakers were experts from all over Russia and countries of the near and far abroad: Moscow, Novosibirsk, St. Petersburg, Astrakhan, Volgograd, Krasnodar, Rostov-on-Don, Luga, Taman, Petrozavodsk, Samara, the Republic of Crimea, the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Republic of Vietnam, Bulgaria, the USA and others.

Within the framework of the Conference, the work of the section of young scientists of the student scientific communities of DSTU took place, in which representatives of the student scientific community “Agriculture”, the association of young scientists “Biomedicine” and the student scientific circle “Aquaculture 2030” spoke.

Following the results of the Conference, a collection of scientific papers of the RSCI will be published, as well as articles in journals indexed by the bibliographic databases Scopus and (or) Web of Science.

*The event was held as part of the implementation in the form of subsidies from the federal budget to educational organizations of higher education for the implementation of activities aimed at supporting student scientific communities.
