Experimental and biological clinic (vivarium)

Conducts basic and applied research on animal models, and is the basis for practical, laboratory and extracurricular classes for veterinary medicine at DSTU students, in particular for students and graduate students who perform educational and research work within the objectives of the Center.

Current areas of research:

  1. Modeling of alimentary diseases in model animals (Sprague Dawley rats) and method development of their correction on the basis of feed additives;

  2. Normal physiology of digestion in farm poultry and the effect of probiotic and synbiotic (in the future) preparations on modulating animal health research;

  3. Local physical methods of prevention and treatment of diseases characterized by fibrosing and sclerosing processes development;

  4. Antimicrobial drugs for domestic and farm animals, including natural (pre- and probiotic) origin development.

In the operating theater of the experimental and biological clinic, students, under the guidance of professors of the faculty “Bioengineering and Veterinary Medicine” in the laboratory and practical classes, master the skills of first aid to animals, primary surgical treatment of wounds, skills of surgical care, as well as resuscitation and anesthesia activities.
