On June 1-6, 2021 in Don State Technical University (DSTU), together with Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey (USA), n full-time and remote formats was held International Conference on Beneficial Microbes (ICOBM-2021). ICOBM-2021 was held within the framework of the grant of the Ministry of Education and Science of Russia No. 075-15-2019-1880.

The use of probiotic microorganisms is developing at an active pace. Today, preparations containing probiotics have found application in agriculture, medicine, as well as in the food industry. Initiatives from various fields of research are needed to synergistically unlock the enormous potential of microorganisms that “work” for human and animal health.

ICOBM has been held since 2014. The venues have already become Thailand and Malaysia, and the participants represented more than 25 countries. This year ICOBM-2021 was held at DSTU and attracted even more representatives of the scientific and educational communities, industrial partners from 87 countries, such as: Malaysia, USA, India, Netherlands, Norway, Japan, Australia, South Korea, France, Brazil, Taiwan, Georgia, Armenia, Uzbekistan and others. The total number of participants exceeded 400 people from 87 countries.

•        Probiotic biotechnology

Sections of young scientists were envisaged in each direction.

Within the framework of ICOBM-2021, a competition for the best reports was held, the winners of which were young scientists from different countries:

2. Alena Abaimova – State Research Center for Applied Microbiology and Biotechnology (Russia);

3. Maria Mazanko – Don State Technical University, Southern Federal University (Russia);

4. George Bucheli, Handong Global University (South Korea);

5. Joanna Fugaban, Handong Global University (South Korea);

6. Revaz Lapachi, Agrarian University of Georgia (Georgia).

Within the framework of this Conference, it is planned to publish more than 10 articles in journals indexed by bibliographic databases Scopus and / or Web of Science.
